Vets4Vets: Supporting those who fought for our freedom

Many of you know that our family is passionate about supporting those who fight for our country. Our own daughter, Karolina, is a cadet at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Our “family” here at Martin Downs Animal Hospital is also passionate about this cause, and in celebration of Veterans Day, we are kicking off our “Vets4Vets” campaign with a food and pet food drive to benefit local veterans in need. Veterans, especially combat veterans, benefit greatly from the companionship of their pets. But in this tough economy, some veterans must choose between feeding themselves or their animals. We want to help make sure that those who sacrificed for our freedom do not have to make that choice.

Beginning on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, we will be collecting nonperishable food and canned dog and cat food at our office, located at 1625 SW Martin Hwy in Palm City. The collection will run through December 1, and non-profit agency House of Hope will distribute the items to local needy veterans right here in our own community.

Also, in honor of those who have served in the past, and those who are currently serving, we continue to offer a 10% discount on all Boarding and Medical Services. Please present your Military Identification to receive this discount.

To those who have served, we say thank you. To those who want to help us help veterans in need, we invite you to stop by our office with your donation.

God Bless America!
